Girl approached at Scone: Police look for man after an eight-year-old girl reported a man in a ute tried to grab her

A young girl has alerted her mother and police after a man in a red ute tried to grab her while she was playing in the front yard of her Scone home on Monday evening.

Police are appealing for any information after a reported child approach at Scone on Monday evening.

An eight-year-old girl told police a man got out of his ute and tried to grab her by the wrist while she was playing in the front yard of her home at around 6pm.

She was able to pull away before running inside to alert her mother.

Police are now looking for man described as being of caucasian appearance, aged around 40 years of age, with a thin build, short brown hair and a tattoo on his right hand.

At the time he was wearing a red shirt and green shorts and left in a red utility.
