Dylan Dickie and Robert Dickie: Disappearance of grandson and grandfather unrelated

It’s a four-year mystery that is extraordinarily unrelated. A Hunter teen and his grandfather go missing nine days apart. Both have not been seen since June 2016.

Robert Dickie was last seen at his Dubbo property on June 14, 2016. A woman has been charged over his murder.

It was a horror year for the Dickie family, with not one, but two family members going missing in 2016.

The four year mystery is extraordinarily unrelated.

The disappearance of a grandson and grandfather just nine days apart, is in no way connected according to family and police.

Dylan Dickie — then aged 19 — was last seen at Cessnock on June 23, 2016, and has not been seen since.

His abandoned motorcycle was later located on July 3 at Watagans National Park, south of Cessnock.

Family deemed his disappearance out of character and police continue to hold fears for his safety and welfare.

Less than two weeks prior retired farmer Robert Dickie, then aged 71, left his rural property for a walk at Elong, near Dubbo, and never returned.

His disappearance was also very out of character.

In April there was a breakthrough, when New Zealand police arrested a 47-year-old woman in Auckland and processed her on a NSW arrest warrant in relation to the senior Mr Dickie’s murder.

But Mr Dickie’s disappearance continues to remain a mystery, as does his grandson’s Dylan, who remains missing and never to be seen in four years.
