Creek murder victim Danielle Easey’s family pay tribute to ‘selfless’ and ‘brilliant mother’
The family of a young woman whose body was found wrapped in plastic in a creek near Newcastle have remembered her as a “brilliant mother” and pleaded with the public to come forward with any information to solve the crime.

The family of a young woman whose body was found wrapped in plastic in a creek near Newcastle have remembered her as a “brilliant mother” and pleaded with the public to come forward with any information to solve the crime.
Jen Collier told The Daily Telegraph her daughter Danielle Easey, 29, had a heart “full of love”.
“She was a beautiful person and a brilliant mother. She used to drop the kids off to be babysat and return in an hour because she would rather be with them,” she said. “She gave her kids all they needed and so much more.”
Ms Easey’s body was found on Saturday morning wrapped tightly in plastic, floating in Cockle Creek at Killingworth near Newcastle. Ms Collier pleaded for anyone with information to come forward.
“We are asking for any information at all. Anything, no matter how small,” she said.

Ms Easey’s father Col said his daughter “always thought of others” while her brother Brendan said she was “an absolute standout person”, and her sister Tahnee penned a letter about the heartbreak her family was suffering. “Danielle’s passing has devastated everyone who knew her,” she wrote. “Our family is broken-hearted but keeping strong.
“Its been really hard to put our loss and pain and grief into words. We are all truly speechless and there is no words for something like this.
“Its been absolutely overwhelming the flood of support and well wishes we have received.
“Danielle was the most beautiful person in the world such a caring and selfless soul. Our heart aches for her and beautiful children.
“It breaks out heart to hear some of her actions towards the end, but we take comfort in the fact we know who she is and we will forever carry Danielle with us.
“It’s not over yet but Danielle’s story will be told and will be heard,” she wrote.
