Christopher Chambers: Nelson Bay man pleaded guilty to high range drink driving crash
He was breath tested at more than six times the blood alcohol limit after he crashed into another vehicle, injuring a person. 37-year-old Chambers pleaded guilty in Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday.

A man driving his Mercedes who crashed into another car, injuring one person, while more than six times over the limit has told police, “I’m sorry, I’ll pay for everything”, according to court documents.
Christopher Murray Stodart Chambers, 47, was driving along Hardy St, Nelson Bay at about 3.50pm on September 22, when he slammed his vehicle into a Hyundai accent.
One of the three people inside the Hyundai suffered minor injuries while Mr Chambers escaped uninjured.
Police facts said he got out of the vehicle and said “I’m sorry” before getting back into his car and driving away from the location.
Police later found Mr Chambers at an address in Achilles St, Nelson Bay where he made full admissions to being involved in the collision.
He was breath tested and returned a positive reading of 0.326 before being charged with high range drink drive.
His license was also immediately suspended.
Police facts said he later told officers at Nelson Bay Police Station, “I’m sorry I’ll pay for everything”.
Mr Chambers appeared at Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to high range PCA.
His solicitor Bronwyn Chamberlain said her client would need a sentencing assessment report and adjourned the matter for sentencing on November 30.
