A prisoner from Cessnock Jail could face charges for a bizarre scene at a Hunter Valley courthouse on Wednesday.
The inmate who was appearing via video link before Magistrate Andrew Millar at Cessnock Local Courthouse surprised everyone in the courtroom after he decided to stand up and pull his shorts down.
It’s believed he then proceeded to touch himself.
A spokeswoman from Corrective Services NSW confirmed the act, saying a 31-year-old Shortland Correctional Centre inmate had allegedly exposed himself during an audio-visual link held at the court.
“The incident is being investigated and the inmate will face either external or internal charges.”
