The phone and vehicle of an Elermore Vale man were bugged by police, as they tried to track his dealings of cocaine, part of an investigation into a drug supply ring across the Hunter.
Between November last year and January this year, Alex Theris, 29, was involved in the sale of more than 27 grams of cocaine, messaging and meeting up with clients on multiple occasions, according to police facts.
Strike Force Pallamana detectives, along with Strike Force Raptor North officers, swooped on properties at Elermore Vale and Macquarie Hills in February and seized 28 grams of MDMA, steroids, $15,000 in cash, mobile phones, documents and other items.
Theris and co-accused Kynan Maffesoni, 24, were arrested and charged.
In Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday, Theris appeared in person as he pleaded guilty to supplying drugs on an ongoing basis.
Five other charges of drug supply were withdrawn.
Maffesoni, from Macquarie Hills, also appeared in court and pleaded guilty to two charges of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis.
A charge of knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and supplying 28 grams of MDMA are being used as backup charges while 28 charges of supply were dropped.
Police facts said Maffesoni made many transaction and sold numerous amounts of drugs at various locations across Lake Macquarie including in the carpark of Cardiff RSL and Wests Cardiff.
He would send messages to a group chat saying “get in while stocks last” or “restocked, anyone need to put an order in for tonight?”
Close to Christmas he also sent a message encouraging his clients to buy up, according to police facts.
“If anyone wants a white Christmas let me know asap, restocked but nearly all gone again,” he said.
Both men have had their matters adjourned until December.
