THE desserts have been described as a “party in your mouth” and “hitting the spot” and now What the Fudge dessert bar is at Mt Druitt to tempt locals with its decadent delights.
The franchise has just opened a pop-up store inside Mt Druitt Westfield, and there is something to soothe every sweet tooth from deep fried Golden Gaytime to the Nutella bomb milkshake.
The pop-up style shop builds on from the highly successful Cabramatta store which has been operating on John St for more than two years.
The Standard stopped in this week to see what the fuss was all about, and What the Fudge did not disappoint.
Managing director Andrew Duong described the flavour of their signature Golden Gaytime dish as “a party in your mouth”.
“I have always had a passion for dessert and we have made just the perfect mixture; it is not too sweet it just hits the spot,” Mr Duong said.
“I have always been a big fan of ice cream and that’s where the Golden Gaytime came from; it is hot and crispy on the outside and cold on the inside.
“It is a party in your mouth.”
What the Fudge has been named one of the top 10 dessert bars in Sydney.
And with people travelling from all over Sydney just to grab a bite, it is easy to see why.
“My customers were travelling from Mt Druitt or Blacktown or Penrith to come to the Cabramatta store,” Mr Duong said.
“I chose to open this at Mt Druitt because I believe this area is really growing — there is a huge demand for this kind of thing here.”
