Police hope security camera footage or dashcam video will help them find two men - one possibly a teenager - after a break-in, robbery and attempted carjacking at Newcastle.
The male occupant of a Gosford Rd, Broadmeadow home was threatened with a knife by two men who broke into the residence at 4am on Sunday.
The paid made off with a handbag and car keys, leaving the scene in a white Holden Barina.
At 5.40am, two men in a Barina pulled alongside a Toyota Corolla on Mitchell St, Merewether.
The 31-year-old Corolla driver said he was threatened with a knife as the pair attempted to steal his car before they drove off.
Newcastle City Police District officers are appealing to the public for any information on the incidents.
The wanted men are described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance. One is believed to be aged in his late teens to early 20s and was last seen wearing dark-coloured clothing. The second man was wearing light-coloured clothing.
Investigators say anyone who may have CCTV footage or who has spotted a white Holden Barina with NSW number plates YIG 34J should contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
