A man is behind bars on remand after he allegedly led police on two pursuits in the Hunter region, crashing into a home on the first occasion and a fuel bowser on the other.

A man is behind bars on remand after he allegedly led police on two pursuits in the Hunter region, crashing into a home on the first occasion and a fuel bowser on the other.
In a statement, NSW Police said officers tried to stop a black Holden Commodore from leaving a hotel on Ferodale Rd, Medowie, about 3am on December 22.
Documents tendered to Parramatta Bail Court allege Dane Frederick Simms, 37, was driving and failed to pull over, prompting a high-speed chase down Abundance Rd.
It ended when Simms allegedly crashed the car into a home along the same road before fleeing the scene on foot without exchanging particulars.
Following investigations, police attempted to stop a second vehicle - a blue Holden Commodore - on Aberglassyn Rd, in Rutherford, about 10.30pm on New Year’s Eve.
Police allege Simms was again behind the wheel and that he failed to stop a second time, leading officers on a pursuit through Rutherford, Lorn and Maitland.
During the chase, Simms allegedly crashed into a fuel bowser at a Maitland EG service station on Ken Tubman Dr.
Police allege Simms attempted to flee the scene on foot and resisted arrest when officers caught up to him, forcing them to pepper spray him.
Simms was taken to Maitland Police Station and charged with 12 offences, including two counts of not stopping and driving recklessly during a police pursuit, two counts of driving while disqualified,single charges of possessing a prohibited drug and suspected stolen goods, and a number of traffic-related offences.
He did not apply for release when he faced Parramatta Bail Court on Wednesday.
The 37-year-old was accordingly remanded in custody to appear at Maitland Local Court on January 8.
