Mount Hutton: Police investigating public place shooting Wilsons road
Lake Macquarie police are investigating after residents reported a shot fired at a car in a quiet residential street in Mount Hutton.

A Lake Macquarie resident has told of how he heard “one bang” after a vehicle was shot at in Mount Hutton.
Police searched through nearby bushland and set up a crime scene along Wilsons Rd on Monday morning following the incident.
About 1.30am, a white Holden Commodore was travelling south along Wilsons Rd at Mount Hutton when the vehicle stopped at the intersection of Assisi Circuit.
Four male occupants of that vehicle spoke to two men from another vehicle before a firearm was discharged towards the rear of the Commodore.
The two men in the other vehicle then fled the scene.
A resident who lives on Wilsons Rd told The Newcastle News he heard a gunshot at around 1.30am, describing it as “one bang” on the “normally quiet” street.
A team of police scoured through scrub near where the shot was fired on Monday morning, as detectives canvassed the area for any information into the incident.
An area of Wilsons Rd was also cordoned off and traffic redirected as police conducted their investigations.
