A man, believed to be aged in his 50s, has been rushed to hospital with multiple injuries after a light plane crashed on landing at Cessnock airport.

A man has been rushed to hospital with multiple injuries after a light plane crashed on landing at Cessnock airport on Thursday.
Emergency services were called to the Pokolbin airstrip just before midday following reports the aircraft and crashed heavily.
An Ambulance NSW spokeswoman said paramedics treated two people at the scene.
A man, believed to be aged in his 50s, was taken to John Hunter Hospital with multiple injuries.
His condition was not immediately known.
It is understood the second person did not need to be transported to hospital.
Authorities will investigate the circumstances surrounding why the plane made the heavy landing before crashing into a fence.
