Jessica Jansen charged with high range drink driving

A woman dobbed in by alarmed motorists as she swerved all over the road screamed at police to “f**k off” before blowing an eye-watering blood alcohol reading.

Jessica Jansen has been charged with high range drink driving.

A Hunter woman who blew more than four times the legal alcohol limit screamed at officers to “f**k off” and pushed them until they took her to the ground in handcuffs.

Alarmed motorists called police after they witnessed Jessica Jansen’s car swerving repeatedly into oncoming traffic in Lorn on September 15.

Agreed police facts state officers saw Jansen, 36, turn onto Queen St and activated their warning lights in efforts to pull her over.

“The driver continued for some time, struggling to keep the vehicle on the correct side of the road, until it finally came to a stop,” the facts state.

Jansen then struggled to unlock the door and then made at least six attempts to blow into a breathalyser before she finally provided a sufficient sample.

She returned a positive result and police then advised her she was under arrest.

“The accused attempted to walk away from police, when police grabbed hold of her by the arm to stop her from fleeing,” the facts state.

“The accused has swung her arm backwards, pushing police and yelled words to the effect of ‘f**k off’.”

Police then used approved methods to subdue Jansen on the ground and handcuff her.

A subsequent breath analysis at Maitland police station returned an eye-watering high range result of 0.220 – more than four times the legal limit.

Jansen was charged with high range drink driving and suspended from driving on the spot.

She has now pleaded guilty at Downing Centre Local Court and will be sentenced on December 7.
