Police facts revealed the 40-year-old was an “acquaintance” with the 48-year-old victim before she stormed a nearby unit around 2:30pm on July 19 last year.

Bradley then assaulted him and “unleashed a flurry of strikes” while holding both a knife and a screwdriver and yelled words to the effect of “you’re a filthy dog, you mutt. I’m going to kill you”.

Police facts said the 48-year-old was able to push her out of the unit before shutting the door. but not before she continued “stabbing” him.

Emergency services were called and he was treated by paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital suffering several lacerations to the scalp and injury to his hands.

Court documents said later that afternoon police found Bradley at another Hamilton South unit, on Ogden St, where she was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station.

Officers seized a handbag with several knives and a mobile phone.

In an interview following her arrest, police facts said she denied stabbing the man or having any weapons at the scene.
