A man who has been deemed a habitual traffic offender and his licence suspended until 2064 has allegedly been caught behind the wheel again.

Police stopped Zachary Armstrong for a random breath test at Hamilton, about 2:40am on Monday.

Police said a licence check revealed his poor driving history.

Armstrong was taken to Newcastle Police Station and charged with driving while disqualified, using an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, and using a vehicle with unauthorised number plates.

He was refused bail in Newcastle Local Court on Monday, and will reappear on January 11.
