IT was all about giving back to the community when Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder Aaron Mooy decided to pay Quakers Hill Police Station a visit on Thursday.

The Quakers Hill 22-year-old soccer star donated two signed jerseys to be used as fundraising items in memory of Detective Inspector Bryson Anderson who tragically died during a job in Oakville last year.

Mooy, who is the nephew of Quakers Hill senior constable Paul Cosgrove said he found out about what happened to Det Insp Bryson through his uncle and wanted to do something to help the family.

"It is not a good situation and if I can help the family by donating a couple of signed jerseys, then hopefully that can motivate other people to get behind the family and help them out too!", Mooy said.

His act of kindness saw him hand over a Wanderers jersey, signed by every member of the squad, which is coming second on the ladder at the moment, and his Socceroos shirt, worn when he scored a free-kick in the East Asian Cup last December.

He said having grown up in the local area he is very proud to be part of a Western Sydney football club which is going so well in the competition this year.

"It is good there is a club in Western Sydney for young kids to look up to and inspires them," he said.
