PREMIERSHIP players from the Hornsby-Berowra under-12 AFL side raised the championship flag over Rofe Park yesterday and swapped stories with fellow premiers Sydney Swans on planning the title defence.

Now in the under-13s and moving up to division one, ruck rover Tyger Fitzpatrick, 12, from Berowra, said the side was already in pre-season training and would be doing their best to keep the flag at Hornsby Heights.

"We've been training hard and we'll do the same as we did last year all play together as a team," he said.

Ruckman Thomas Drum, from Wahroonga, said he wasn't daunted by division one: "Nah, it'll be fun."

The title defence begins on April 7.
