INDOOR cricketers from the Northern Area Recreation Association will be stepping up to a new crease in Mount Kuring-gai next month, with the competition moving to new and improved premises.

The association is a sporting and leisure organisation that runs indoor cricket in the first half of the year and indoor football in the second half of the year for people with a disability.

Association president Brien Mendham said the group had used the same centre for 25 years but that closed last year so the 2013 competition will take place in a "bigger and better" facility at Action Indoor Sports in Mount Kuring-gai.

The season hits off on February 2 with a registration day and Mr Mendham said the players are graded according to their ability, not age or gender.

"Players range from around 10 to 55 and we usually have three grades: A, B, C," he said. "We are hoping to interest teenagers and young adults."
