WESTERN Sydney’s largest hip-hop festival is set to bring rappers, street artists and dancers together for a third year of epic performances.
More than 100 diverse artists have been enlisted to entertain crowds at the all-ages 4 Elements Hip Hip Festival on March 18.
The mishmash of food, music, dance and street art, which coincides with Harmony Day, will include a 65m live graffiti art wall, exhibition galleries, a hip hop and music resource room, and industry panels.
Artists have already been busy in preparation for the annual ode to hip hop, with Woes, Jesta and Mistery completing a 5.5m wide by 3m high mural in the Bankstown Central shopping centre food court.
Meanwhile, the cream of Australia’s hip hop crop has been busy conducting workshops for budding talent in southwest Sydney.
The brains behind 4 Elements, Vyvienne Abla, said the festival allowed youth to connect with the community and express themselves.
“(The festival) acts as a meeting ground, a space where education, community and industry meet, creating unique personal and professional development opportunities for young people and artists to share their stories, network, gain mentorships and employment through the arts,” she said.
4 Elements will kick off on March 18 at the Bankstown Arts Centre.
