Young basketball players will only have to wear their association’s singlets this Sunday to score free tickets to an NBL match.

Any NSW player under 18 who turns up in their singlets, won’t pay a dime to see the Sydney Kings take on the Adelaide 36ers at Qudos Bank Arena. Adults accompanying youngsters in uniform will have discounted $15 tickets.

Hundreds of young players, in their association uniform, will also join club legend Tim Morrissey on stage in a pregame ritual, when he will remove the sword from the stone.

Coach Andrew Gaze said he has made it a priority to reconnect the Sydney Kings club to grassroots basketball, and has been thrilled with the progress so far.

“This game on December 18 is a thanks to the support we get from BNSW, and all the associations,” he said.

Tip-off is at 2.30pm.
