The family of missing Chester Hill man Joseph Casagrande are pleading for the father-of-two to contact them to say he is safe.
Mr Casagrande, 51, was reported missing on March 4, by his partner, Sonja Casagrande around 6.30pm, after the bricklayer failed to pick up their two young children after school, which he was scheduled to do around 5.30pm, with one being at the day care.
The motorbike and camping enthusiast had driven in his white Toyota Hilux (registration No BVO30E), has not been seen since his disappearance, police said, with Mrs Casagrande saying by the time she got up around 6.30am on March 4, he had left.
“Nothing of this makes sense because this is totally out of character,” Mrs Casagrande told a media conference at Bankstown Police Station on Monday afternoon.
“We want him to come home, I miss him, our kids miss him.
“Our whole family and friends miss you.
“We pray for his safety and we want to know he is safe.
“This is all very uncharacteristic as he is dependable and would never forget to pick up his kids and that’s why the alarm bells rang.
“We are concerned about his safety as everything about him is unknown.
“I just want him to come home to his family.
“The children are surprisingly tough but they are like me, struggling for answers.”
“We want to get more help out there to look out for him.”
Detective Chief Inspector Glen Fitzgerald said they have drawn a blank regarding his whereabouts.
“We are concerned about this particular case because it is completely out of character and everything we have followed to this day has come up empty.
“Our investigation so far has come up with very little.
“We appeal to anyone who may have any information about him or any reasons for his disappearance to come forward.”
Mr Casagrande’s nephew Jason Browning, who was present at the media conference, said their whole community is looking out for him.
‘We have got people from around the place looking for him,” Mr Browning said.
“It is very tough on all of us.”
Police said Mr Casagrande was a very normal person who did not use credit cards.
“He is a great person and I could not have asked for a better husband, father or friend,” Mrs Casagrande said.
“Maybe he was going through something like we do.”
She said he is very old school and does not use any social media.
