Two men will face court after being charged by special task force detectives investigating an alleged large-scale drug supply syndicate in Sydney.
The Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Yarrum has been investigating an alleged syndicate involved in the large-scale supply of methylamphetamine, cannabis and cocaine across the Sydney region since June.
On September 25, investigators and the Public Order and Riot Squad allegedly seized two bags of cocaine, weighing a total of 280g, after stopping a vehicle on Beamish St, Campsie, just after 7pm.
The two bags of cocaine were allegedly found in a hidden compartment in the centre console area by the detectives and the dog squad.
The 24-year-old male driver and his passenger, a 23-year-old man, were both arrested and taken to Campsie police station.
Later two search warrants were executed at homes at Belfield and Willoughby.
“During the search at Belfield, a replica long-arm firearm, knuckledusters, an electronic stun device, cannabis, steroids and a number of designer watches were seized,” a police spokesman said.
“The younger man was charged with supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), and knowingly direct activities of criminal group.”
He was refused bail and appeared at Burwood Local Court on September 26, where he was formally refused bail to re-appear at the same court today.

The strike force has arrested a number of people in relation to the alleged syndicate.
On May 23, detectives charged a member and two associates of the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang – aged 22, 27 and 28.
On May 28, two other men, 20 and 21, were charged in the same investigation and they all remain before the courts.
