Two charged over thefts at seven Bunnings stores in Sydney

Two men, who allegedly stole from seven Bunnings stores, have been caught with both having outstanding warrants for their arrest.

Police believe they have cracked the spate of thefts at Bunnings stores across seven suburbs, arresting two men.

The two men have been charged with shoplifting at Bunnings stores in Kingsgrove, Eastgardens, Artarmon, Hoxton Park, Chatswood, Kirrawee and Northmead, with police also having outstanding warrants for the men.

Campsie police crime manager Chief Inspector Paul Albury told The Express theirofficers arrested a 44-year-old and 41-year-old in Chapel St, Belmore, on Tuesday, with help from the Bass Hill Region Enforcement Squad and the dog squad.

“The 41-year-old man was sighted at the address,” Chief Inspector Albury said.

“Officers attached to Bass Hill RES and the police dog unit surrounded the home and entered the premises where the man was arrested on the front porch of the home.

“The 44-year-old was located in a bedroom inside the home.”

The 44-year-old was charged with four shoplifting offences, seven trespass offences and one outstanding warrant for his arrest.

The 41-year-old man was charged with six shoplifting charges, six trespass charges and one outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Both were refused bail.

The men attended Burwood Local Court on August 21 and the case has been adjourned to August 27.
