Elderly woman hospitalised in critical condition after struck by car

An elderly woman has been critically injured after she was hit by a car as she was crossing a street in Panania this morning.

An elderly woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car as she was crossing a street at Panania this morning.

Emergency services raced to the intersection of Peffer St and Anderson Ave in Panania town centre about 8am, responding to reports that an 81-year-old had been hit by a car.

Bankstown police found the woman with serious leg and abdominal injuries.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated her and she was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle, a 44-year-old woman, was uninjured and taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police have been told that the woman was struck while crossing Peffer St, by the vehicle which was turning right from Anderson Ave into Peffer St.
