A NSW senior constable attached to a specialist command is alleged to have committed multiple sexual offences over a period of two years.

Richard Freire, 59, of Ulladulla, is accused of nine offences in total - six of a sexual nature, and three common assaults - all on the one victim.

They include five counts of sexual touching without consent, one count of incite sexual act without consent, and three counts of common assault, and allegedly took place at Potts Hill, in Sydney’s southwest.

A police spokesperson said the investigations into Freire started in January 2022, and were undertaken by the Professional Standards Command, following reports of sex offences committed by a senior constable attached to a specialist command.

The spokesperson said his employment was currently under review.

NewsLocal also made enquiries as to which specialist command unit Friere was working with at the time of the offences, and did not receive a response prior to publication.

Appearing in Bankstown Local Court today, Freire’s case was adjourned to August 8, where he is set to return to Bankstown.
