A Revesby man who allegedly threatened and strangled his father has been granted bail after being charged by police.

A 27-year-old man who police alleged choked his father in their Revesby home has been charged and was later granted bail.

Police said the man had allegedly verbally threatened and physically strangled his 77-year-old father at their Glenview Ave home on Thursday, August 1.

However, the father did not require any medical treatment.

The man has been charged with intentionally choking a person without consent, common assault and stalk/intimidate.

He was granted bail and the matter is next before Bankstown Local Court on November 5.

BANKSTOWN: Police are investigating an armed robbery in a Bankstown car park around 7.15pm on Friday, August 9. According to police, two men, 22 and 18, were in a vehicle parked in a carpark on Ross Street. The 22-year-old man was outside the vehicle on the phone when police allege he was approached by five unknown males, wielding knives and a bat. “The males threatened the pair, took their phones and wallets, and ran away in a westerly direction through nearby gardens,” police said. Investigators are appealing for information for anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident. The males are described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged in their 20s, and wearing black hooded jumpers and face coverings.

MILPERRA/VILLAWOOD: Police have allegedly found drugs and a knife after searching a vehicle at Bunnings Milperra. About 11.49pm on July 31, a 49-year-old male from Villawood was arrested at Bunnings Milperra and police allegedly found drugs and a knife in his vehicle. He was charged with importing commercial quantity of border-controlled drug, two counts of supply prohibited drugs, five counts of supplying prohibited drugs in commercial quantity and knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime. The man was refused bail and the matter is next before Parramatta Local Court on October 3.

CONDELL PARK: Between 4am and 8.15pm on Sunday, July 21, a 38-year-old male from Condell Park allegedly broke into a house on Marion St, Condell Park, and stole

items. On Wednesday, July 31, the man was arrested and charged with break and enter, entering house to steal goods, committing offence and having a previous conviction. He was refused bail and the matter was to appear before Bankstown Local Court on August 15.

BASS HILL/PADSTOW: About 650pm on Wednesday, July 31, a 30-year-old male from Padstow allegedly fought with another man in the underground car park at Bass Hill Plaza

shopping centre. During that fight the 30-year-old male allegedly pulled out a pistol to

threaten the victim. The 30-year-old was charged with possessing an unregistered firearm, possessing unauthorised pistol, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possessing ammunition without a licence. He was refused bail and the matter is next before Bankstown Local Court on August 29.
