Council acts swiftly to fix pot holes at Campsie car park

Pot holes are the bane of road users and sometimes all it takes is the power of the media to get authorities moving quickly like The Express did with 10 pot holes in Campsie.

More than 10 pot holes, some close to half a metre in size, at the London Street car park, have been filled by Canterbury Bankstown Council after Canterbury Bankstown Express brought it to their attention.

The small but popular car park, which has 43 spaces, was not maintained when The Express visited it, counting 10 holes, including several filled with water.

Motorists had to avoid the damaged sections while entering or leaving the car park which is close to Campsie police station. We saw some cars forced to park over the pot holes.

The council said it acted on our inquiry, admitting they are unable to know about all the road issues in the city and need the community’s help to fix them.

“Like all councils, our road maintenance officers cannot be everywhere all the time, so the community plays an important role in notifying us of any issues they identify, including potholes,” a council spokeswoman said.
