Revesby brothers charged over $1m cash allegedly found in bags

Two brothers have appeared in court after police allegedly found several shopping bags containing more than $1 million in cash in a raid at a Revesby home.

Two brothers have appeared in court after more than a million dollars in cash was allegedly found in shopping bags when police raided a home in Revesby.

Campsie police said they had been investigating a complaint made by a man on June 19, where fraudulent invoices and large amounts of money were allegedly being transferred from his bank account unlawfully.

Following investigations, the two brothers, Andrew and Steven Francis were arrested at their Beaconsfield St home in Revesby at 7.30am on Tuesday, October 29.

A search of the home allegedly revealed several shopping bags containing more than $1 million in cash, stolen identification documents and eight boxes of ammunition.

Andrew Francis, 54, appeared in Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday, charged with knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime, possessing ammunition without licence/permit/authority and dealing with the proceeds of crime worth more than a million dollars.

He did not enter a plea before the magistrate who adjourned the case until January 8, 2020.

His brother Steven Francis, 31, was also charged at Bankstown Police Station with knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.

He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday November 20.
