Revesby, Bankstown, Sefton, Parramatta: Three men charged after $5m worth of methylamphetamine found

A trio has been charged after an alleged clandestine laboratory and $5m worth of methylamphetamine were uncovered as part of sweeping police raids across Sydney’s southwest.
Police launched an investigation after Australian Border Force officers found several precursor chemicals allegedly used to manufacture methamphetamine in March.
Following a four-month investigation, police searched four homes at Revesby, Bankstown, Sefton and Parramatta on Tuesday.
Police allegedly found an industrial scale clandestine laboratory inside two detached granny flats at Revesby and seized purpose-built reaction vessels, chemical glassware, 3.5kg of methylamphetamine and 88kg of GHB.
Almost 150kg of precursor chemicals used to manufacture methylamphetamine was also found and specialist police were deployed to dismantle the lab.
Two men – aged 30 and 35 – were arrested in Bankstown after police allegedly uncovered a clandestine laboratory and seized 2kg of methylamphetamine, a pistol, $150,000 cash, ammunition, electronic devices and cannabis.
A 42-year-old man was arrested in Sefton after police seized clothing, mobile phones, electronic storage and a gel blaster pistol.
Police also seized electronic devices and clothing relevant to the offence as well as chemicals, and equipment used in the manufacture of prohibited drugs in Parramatta.
The three men were taken to Bankstown police station where they were each charged with manufacturing a large commercial quantity of prohibited drug and participating in a criminal group contributing to a criminal activity.
The 35-year-old man was also charged with supplying large commercial quantity of prohibited drug, recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime $100,000 or more and possessing an unauthorised pistol.
The 42-year-old man was also charged with possessing an unauthorised pistol and driving while licence suspended.
They all appeared at Parramatta Local Court yesterday where they were formally refused bail to appear at Burwood Court on August 21.
