More than 40 footpaths and boardwalks will receive a welcome facelift across many suburbs during 2019-20.

Canterbury Bankstown has a footpath network of 1190km and 10km is earmarked for new and renewed footpaths.

The first footpath project is at Duntroon St — Barton Ave to Marcia Lane, Hurlstone

Park, and starts next month.

Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour said the council would improve or build 43 footpaths across the city.

“Over the next 12 months, we will construct around 10 kilometres of new and renewed

footpaths, to make it easier for pedestrians and cyclists to get around our city,” he said.

“This continues to be part of our commitment for our city to be accessible.”
