Police probe Greenacre house fire, which impacts traffic in south west Sydney
Police are investigating a fire which has caused major damage to a house in Greenacre.

A road closure to protect a house fire from extending to neighbouring homes caused traffic jams in Greenacre and surrounding suburbs.
Fire & Rescue NSW sent nine crews to battle the blaze which has caused major damage to an unoccupied home on Roberts Rd, Greenace, this morning.
The closure of Roberts Rd impacted traffic in the area for around one and half hours.
The occupant of the house was located while the fire crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire and prevent flames from touching neighbouring homes. No one was injured.
The back of the house bore the brunt of the fire which has caused major damage, according to fire crews and the police.
Police helped shut down the usually busy Roberts Rd while the blaze was being fought.
Nine trucks from Lakemba, Bankstown, Campsie, Revesby, Burwood, Concorde, Kograh and Sydney rushed to the home after receiving multiple calls around 5.45am, the FRNSW said.
Police have established a crime scene while fire investigators are checking the cause of it.
“Initial reports said people could have been inside the home,” FRNSW acting superintendent Greg Wright told the Express.

“When our crews arrived there the single level house was well alight with houses on either side of it under threat due to the fires,” he said.
“The firefighters worked quickly to set up lines to protect the neighbouring homes and closed off Roberts Rd for the protection of the firefighters.
“The fire was extinguished within 45 minutes and then the crews worked to ensure that there was no chance of the fire re-starting.
“Fire investigators are at the scene working out the cause of the blaze.”
