A man has been charged in connection with the Belmore tattoo shop shooting and assault.
The shooting, which took place on Wednesday night, left one man with facial injuries and a gunshot wound after he was assaulted by a group of men in the under-construction tattoo parlour.
Following questioning, a 25-year-old Punchbowl man from a nearby ship was arrested and charged with allegedly committing the serious assault.
Campsie police crime manager Detective Chief Inspector Paul Albury said the 27-year-old victim had presented himself to Canterbury Hospital at 11pm on Wednesday night.
“The man was severely assaulted by a group of men in a targeted attack,” Det Chief Insp Albury told The Express.
“The man’s whole face has swelled up and he had surgery on his left ankle.
“He is in a stable condition.”
He was charged with discharging his gun with the intent of causing grievous bodily harm and with detaining a person in company with intent to obtain advantage.
He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Friday.
