Police arrest Greenacre man over possessing prohibited firearms
Police have arrested a Greenacre man over the alleged possession of prohibited firearms, including a SKS self-loading rifle and a M1 Carbine self-loading rifle.

A special police team investigating targeted mail theft, mobile telephone porting and identity takeovers in Sydney has charged a Greenacre man with 11 offences.
The man was arrested at Parramatta police station on Monday and charged with two counts of possessing unauthorised prohibited firearm, possessing unregistered firearm, two counts of prohibited firearm, four counts of possessing or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possessing ammunition without holding licence/permit, and two counts of not keeping firearm safely.
The 28-year-old was given strict conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
He is the third man to be charged over the alleged possession of prohibited unauthorised firearms found at a home on Arthur St, Bankstown, on November 29, 2017.
The NSW Police Force and the Australian Federal Police began Operation Loa in June 2017 to investigate targeted mail theft, mobile telephone porting and identity takeovers, which they allege led to large-scale fraud across Sydney.
During a search at the Arthur St home, investigators allegedly located a SKS self-loading rifle, a M1 Carbine self-loading rifle, four magazines and ammunition.
Police said the seized firearms have been forensically examined and are undergoing ballistic examination.
A 29-year-old man was charged at the time with nine firearm offences and remains before the courts.
On July 29, the State Crime Command’s Financial Crimes Squad charged a 28-year-old man with 11 counts of possessing prohibited firearm.
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today.
