A NEW cafe is bringing colour and charm to a quiet suburban street in Yagoona West.
Kaffeine & Co only opened its doors on Dargan St in September, but already the cafe has clocked up 11,000 followers on Instagram.
Five nights a week, the buzzing eatery nourishes a growing night-life as it serves some of the most Insta-worthy cocktails you could find in Sydney.
There’s the pomegranate margarita, lychee mojito and the crowd-favourite the unicorn — a layered multi-colour glass of passionfruit, lychee, blueberry, mango and coconut.
Being halal, the drinks are non-alcoholic, but what they lack in kick — owner Gee Hamzy, 39, says they make up for in colour, taste and only the freshest fruit ingredients.
“Because a lot of people around here don’t drink, they’re not fussed about alcohol,” he said.
Foodies also travel from all over for the elaborate brunches on offer at Kaffeine & Co.
As the only venue of its kind in Yagoona, the location was a bold move for Mr Hamzy.
But you only have to look around at the crowded tables to see it’s a decision that’s paid off.
“Everyone told me I was crazy opening up in the middle of nowhere. But 100 per cent it’s paid off,” he said.
“We get people coming everywhere — we get a lot of people from Balmain.
“We’ve had people from Melbourne, Brisbane, the ACT, they come from all over.”
