NAPLAN 2024 results: Al-Faisal College, Hurlstone Agricultural High School named among top south, southwest Sydney schools

Hurlstone Agricultural High School and Al-Faisal College Campbelltown are the top performing NAPLAN schools in Sydney’s south and southwest in 2024.
An independent analysis of newly released 2024 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the year 5 and year 9 tests.
Al-Faisal College Campbelltown, in Minto, had the best primary results of any school in southwest Sydney, scoring an average of 580.2.
Hurstville Public School was the second best for the region with an average score of 574.6, while Sutherland Public School was the third best with an average score of 572.8.
The top performing secondary school was Hurlstone Agricultural High School, in Glenfield, where the average result was 692.8.
Caringbah High School was the second best for the region with an average score of 688.6, while St George Girls High School in Kogarah was the third best with an average score of 687.8.
To determine how each school performed in 2024, the scores for all five test subjects for the student cohort (year 5 or year 9) were combined and the average found.
Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.
The figures were independently compiled from the federal government’s MySchool website.
