Mohannad Omar Ahmad Al-far: Greenacre man charged with GBL supply

A man charged with the supply of 1200 litres of gamma butyrolactone (GBL) - also known as “liquid ecstasy” - and dealing with $139,000 in criminal proceeds has been mentioned in court.

A Greenacre man charged with the supply of 1200 litres of gamma butyrolactone (GBL) - also known as “liquid ecstasy” - will remain behind bars on remand.

Mohannad Omar Ahmad Al-far, 38, was listed to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday following his arrest in December last year.

He has been charged with take part in manufacturing prohibited drug (indictable quantity), supplying prohibited drug (commercial quantity), participating in criminal group contributing to criminal activity, and dealing with property proceeds of crime (in excess $100,000).

Court documents allege Al-Far supplied 1200 litres of GBL, dealt with $139,000 in criminal proceeds and manufactured oxymetholene.

Al-Far was formally refused bail in December and has since been remanded in custody.

No pleas have been entered in relation to the matter.

The magistrate at Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday noted no one had arrived in court in relation to the matter and police were seeking an eight week adjournment, which was granted.

The matter will return to court in April.
