A woman had pictures of a toddler holding a pistol while another child held an ammunition container days before a shooting unfolded outside a home at Guildford.

Marwa Hamide, 29, was charged with two counts of possessing an unauthorised pistol and hindering or resisting an officer in the execution of duty after police were called to Bligh St at Guildford on November 27 after reports of a shooting.

Officers found a bullet hole at the front gate of a property, though no one was injured.

Hamide was arrested at the scene and taken to Granville police station and was released before she was arrested on Wednesday during a vehicle stop on Thorton Ave, Bass Hill.

Hamide appeared before Bankstown Local Court on Thursday via audio visual link while five supporters gathered in the courtroom as her lawyer made an application for bail.

Magistrate Glenn Walsh said Hamide’s phone was examined on November 26 and showed a five-year-old holding “what appeared to be a glock-style pistol, pointing it to the camera.”

Mr Walsh said her partner could be heard “antagonising” the child while they pointed the gun to the camera.

“A three year old was seen in the background holding a plastic container used to hold ammunition and magazines for the firearm,” he said.

Mr Walsh said he disagreed with Mr Abbas’ argument of a “not strong” crown case and denied Hamide bail.

“So far as the matter is concerned, it’s a powerful crown case, not only in the hinder of police but the two possessions of firearms,” he said.

He said the matter was “aggravated” because the alleged shooting occurred “in a house where there were three children under five”.

Hamide’s five supporters broke down in tears when Mr Walsh handed down his decision.

Tactical Operations Unit and Raptor Squad officers arrested Hamide’s partner, Mohamad Zreika, on Wednesday at Ryde.

He was taken to Gladesville police station and charged with three counts of supplying an unregistered firearm/pistol, acquiring a pistol subject to firearms prohibition order, and discharging a firearm intending to cause grievous bodily harm.

He appeared before Burwood Local Court on Thursday where he made no application for bail and his matter was adjourned to Parramatta Local Court for February 1.

Hamide’s matter was adjourned for December 21 at Bankstown Local Court.
