REMEMBER those catchy songs Bye, Bye, Baby, Shang-A-Lang, Saturday Night, Rock and Roll Love Letter, Give A Little Love, Money Money?

Well if you do and still like to hum them, then you should head down to the Revesby Workers Club on Sunday, July 22, where the great Les McKeown is back with his nostalgic tour: Bay City Rollers Greatest Hits World Tour 2018

McKeown is ready to bring back the nostalgia and resume the Rollermania days while wooing all those female fans again.

McKeown says he remember parts of his band’s glory days.

“Aussie girls were crazy about the Bay City Rollers back then and there was pandemonium when we toured,” McKeown laughed.

“It was crazy as they lined up the roads and chased after our car.

“I remember bits and bobs of our hey days though.”

McKeown is the only original band member on the tour and will be backed by an experienced band who have been with him for years.

The lead singer of the Bay City Rollers, who spoke to us from Scotland, is now a youthful 62 and does not think of a time when he did not want to sing.

“I will sing till I drop and I am happy where I am … I am in a perfect place,” McKeown said.

“If it’s not broken I am not going to fix it.

“When you are young, you don’t think you will live forever … you think 21 is very old!

“We will put up a hell of a show and I want our fans to dress up and meet their childhood sweetheart.

“We will be playing all our hits in our two-part show.

“Come along and have a sing a long with us as it is an absolutely brilliant show.”

McKeown, who lived and worked in Japan and Germany for years, said he was not particularly influenced by any musical style back in those days.

“I don’t think I wanted to be anyone but we had some great bands back then like Queen, Roxy Music, Led Zeppelin and Slade and there was a whole collection of different music,” he said.

“We were spoilt for good music and blessed. And the kids nowadays still love our music.”

The Bay City Rollers got back together in 2015/16 but now it’s just Les on the road again so enjoy him while you can.
