A teenage dial-a-dealer was busted selling two bags of cocaine during a late night police patrol targeting drug activity in Sydney’s inner city.

Jordan English, 19, appeared before Downing Centre Local Court on Friday and pleaded guilty to supplying a prohibited drug and deal with property proceeds of crime after police discovered he sold drugs at Paddington in November.

Documents reveal police were conducting patrols when English and an associate drove into Leinster St where a man entered the car before exiting the vehicle after a 30 second drive.

“Police stopped the male where he admitted to purchasing two bags of cocaine within the vehicle where English was seated in the passenger seat,” facts state.

Officers searched the vehicle and found $1350 in the form of $50 notes in the front passenger footwell where English was seated.

English told police he won the money at the pokies after officers located several mobile phones.

English’s lawyer said his client needed a “bit of extra money” because of a precarious financial position and resorted to dealing a small amount of drugs.

He said English was supported by his partner in court which heard he had attempted to make positive changes to his life, including starting a job as a mechanic at Bankstown.

Magistrate Robert Williams said the court must denounce the teenager’s actions as “it affects other people in the community”.

“It’s a good thing you’re now working and it appears you have plans for the future,” Mr Williams said.

English was convicted of both charges and was fined $600 and sentenced to a community corrections order for nine months for supplying a prohibited drug.

He was also sentenced to a conditional release order for a period of nine months for dealing with property proceeds of crime.
