OUR newest millionaire is a hard working Lakemba local, who will continue to work, but will treat himself to a new car and buy that long awaited house.

The Lakemba man, who does not want to be identified, said he will first buy a car to replace “the bomb” he currently owns and then look for a suitable home, after “the heavens opened up” for him.

The blue colour worker said he plays the Lotto every week and usually wins about $50 or $20 so his massive payout with the Monday & Wednesday Lotto ticket floored him. He waited for a day before checking out his ticket.

However, no one has come up to claim the $3.88 million first prize Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10234, drawn on Monday July 2.

“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” the overjoyed Lakemba man told the NSW Lotteries official who confirmed his win. “This is really good!

“I’ve been winning here and there with $50 and $20, but it never crossed my mind that the heavens were going to open for me like this.

“I’ve got a bomb car, so I’ll buy myself a new car.

“A small car, not a luxury car, and then I’ll look at buying a house.

“I’ll still go to work each day but this will make things a lot easier.”

“I’ve checked my ticket at a couple of newsagencies, but I just didn’t believe it until now.

“I’ve come in here where I bought my ticket and the owner’s shaken my hand and said ‘congratulations, you’ve won a million dollars’.”

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3782 on Monday, July 16, were 14, 37, 16, 40, 35 and 42, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 3.

He and someone from South Australia won a million each from this draw.

“I play every week but I never thought I’d ever win something this big,” the Lakemba man said.

“I’m always hoping to win something to maybe go on a holiday or buy a car, but I didn’t think it would be this huge.

For Lakemba Newsagency & General Store owner Amir Khan, it was a happy day to meet his first millionaire winner.

“This is our first division one winning entry and it’s amazing to know we’ve turned one of our customers into a millionaire,” Mr Khan said.

“We’ve had lots of people come in to check their tickets hoping they are holding the winning ticket.

“We wish our winner all the very best with their prize!”

Meanwhile, Riverwood Newsagency owner John Zhang said he was hoping the winner would be united with the massive prize soon.

“We’re thrilled to have sold the winning Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot ticket — it’s the fifth major win for my store,” he said.

“We’ve had lots of people coming in to check their tickets during the past few weeks, but no winner yet.

“We hope they come forward soon.”

NSW Lotteries spokesman Matt Hart said: “Someone out there is a multi-millionaire and they don’t know it yet.

“Imagine what you could have been doing during the past two weeks knowing your bank balance has ballooned by $3.88 million.

“It’s fair to say this windfall is life-changing.”

This year, the Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto have created 101 millionaires across Australia.
