A former promoter for a far-right political party is facing allegations of stalking and intimidating a family member, and admitted to using a carriage service to menace or harass them.
Leppington man Ignatius Gavrilidis, also known as ‘Iggy’ rose to notoriety in 2014, when he attempted to stage an Australian tour for members of far-right Greek political party, ‘Golden Dawn’ in Australia.
Appearing in Bankstown Local Court on July 20, Gavrilidis told the court he would be representing himself in the domestic violence charges, and pleaded not guilty to stalking and intimidating a woman who shares his last name.
He has also pleaded guilty to using a carriage service to menace/harass/offend that same woman.
Speaking outside the court, Gavrilidis said he had been a member of nationalist groups in Greece since the eighties.
