A man is accused of leading the Raptor Squad on a wild chase throughout Sydney’s southwest after he was allegedly driving dangerously overnight.

Raptor Squad officers were patrolling the Greenacre area before they found a Toyota Corolla driving on Sunday at 8.15pm.

Police will allege when the driver failed to stop the vehicle a pursuit was launched for several minutes before it was terminated on Maiden St because of safety concerns.

Following inquiries, police arrested the 24-year-old driver at a home on Valencia St, Greenacre, after police found the vehicle in the driveway.

He was taken to Bankstown police station where he was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, drive recklessly/furiously and breach of bail.

The man was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Court on Monday.
