Six candidates will be vying for the seat of Banks in the coming Federal election.

Incumbent MP David Coleman won the top stop on the ballot draw earlier this week. The candidates will appear on the ballot in the following order:

1. David Coleman of the Liberal Party

2. Gianluca Dragone of The Greens

3. Chris Gambian of Labor

4. Reginald Keith Wright of United Australia Party

5. Anjali Thakur of the Animal Justice Party

6. Ki Man Ho of the Christian Democratic Party.

Banks has proven to be a closely competitive seat. Up until Liberal MP won the seat in 2013, it had been a safe seat for Labor since its inception in 1949.

The electorate includes mainly the suburbs Allawah, Carlton (part), Connells Point, East Hills, Lugarno, Mortdale, Oatley, Panania, Padstow, Padstow Heights, Hurstville Grove, Picnic Point, Revesby, Riverwood and South Hurstville.

Pre-poll early voting starts on Monday, April 29, with the election to be held on Saturday, May 18.
