Gym junkies of southwest Sydney have spoken and declared Andrew Potter, the owner of Team Transform at Fairfield East, as the best personal trainer in the region.

Mr Potter, who has run the popular group fitness gym since 2013, received an overwhelming number of nominations from loyal clients who lauded him as “one of a kind”.

“I’ve been training with Andrew for almost 10 years - his dedication to health and fitness for his members is always his top priority,” Richele Dlouhy said.

George Sousou said: “Andrew is one of a kind, his dedication and help to myself and everyone at Team Transform is amazing plus every day is a different exercise.’’

The trainer worked in a warehouse before making the shift to a career in the fitness industry after wanting to find a job where he could help others.

Mr Potter started from humble beginnings training a handful of people at a park before creating Team Transform into a brick and mortar empire in Fairfield.

“It’s nice to have the support of members to vote and it goes to show I must be doing something right,” he said.

Despite the challenges of running his own business, Mr Potter said he would not have it any other way because he had the flexibility to cater his training to suit his client’s needs.

“When you’re working for another company, everything is structured and you don’t have the flexibility to change anything,” he said.

“I’m big on creating healthy lifestyles and building positive habits for people and I want people to think of their health as long term and not as a quick fix.”

Now after a decade of training, Mr Potter said the best part of his job was “building relationships” and helping people change their lives for the better.

“Some of the best friends I have now are from them becoming members and it’s great to see people who come to training by themselves become friends with others,” he said.

“I watch people lose 20 or 30kgs and turn their lives around and not a lot of jobs can relate to that ... it’s really rewarding”
