Duo allegedly snatch keys from car before stealing computer, mobiles from Sydney home

Police have charged a 41-year-old woman for allegedly breaking into a Riverwood home after stealing the set of keys from a car parked at Ashfield shopping centre.

POLICE have charged a 41-year-old woman for allegedly breaking into a Riverwood home after stealing the set of keys from a car parked at Ashfield shopping centre.

Police allege between 3pm and 4.10pm on Sunday, February 24, the woman and another person broke into a white Ford parked at an Ashfied shopping centre. They allegedly stole a set of keys to an address in Riverwood.

It is alleged the two stole computers, luggage, mobile phones and other items from the home. Later that day the other person was arrested. Items allegedly stolen during the break and enter were seized. About 12.55pm on Thursday, February 28, the woman was arrested at her South Granville address and charged with three offences.

REVESBY: A woman was charged after allegedly driving erratically and failing a breath test while not having a driving licence on her. About 8pm on Wednesday, February 27, Bankstown Police observed a vehicle travelling on Uranus Rd, Revesby. They will allege the vehicle veered over double white lines, hit approximately five metres worth of plastic lane dividers and narrowly miss the west-bound stationary vehicles, including a police vehicle. Police stopped the vehicle and submitted the driver, a 48-year-old Padstow Heights woman to a breath test which allegedly returned a result of 0.156. She was taken to Bankstown Police station where she failed to comply with a breath analysis. She was charged with refuse or fail to submit to breath analysis, drive motor vehicle not carrying licence and not keeping left of dividing line. She was granted bail and the matter is before Bankstown Local Court on March 20.

GREENACRE: A 21-year-old man, from Bankstown, and his 18-year-old brother, from Punchbowl, were charged after Bankstown Police allegedly found a loaded revolver and ammunition while searching a vehicle on Tennyson Rd, Greenacre. Police responded to reports of a brawl on Monday, February 25, around 10.30am when they saw two men in a vehicle. The 21-year-old was charged with possess loaded firearm, possess unauthorised pistol, possess unregistered firearm, not keep firearm safely and possess ammunition without a licence. The 18-year-old was charged with possess ammunition without a licence/permit/authority.

CAMPSIE/CHESTER HILL: A Chester Hill man and a Canley Vale woman were charged after more than $3 million worth of cannabis and more than $70,000 in cash were seized across Sydney, including Campsie and Chester Hill, on Thursday. Strike Force Grassy executed 12 search warrants on homes and allegedly seized $72,000 in cash, 1109 cannabis plants, and 10kg of cannabis leaves from the properties. The Chester Hill man was charged with five counts of cultivating prohibited plant, supplying prohibited drug, dealing with proceeds of crime, and participating in a criminal group.

VILLAWOOD: A man crashed his car into a school fence on Saturday night. Emergency services, called to the intersection of Lowana and Gundaroo streets, found a Hyundai Coupe and its 40-year-old driver had crashed into the fence of a school. Police found his 43-year-old passenger nearby with minor injuries; he was taken to Liverpool Hospital but was released shortly after. Breath tests administered to the driver found he had a blood alcohol reading of 0.210. The driver was charged with high range PCA and negligent driving. He will appear at Bankstown Local Court on March 20.
