Condell Park stabbing: 3 men charged over Luke Lembryk alleged murder

Three men have been charged with the murder of a Condell Park plumber whose last words to his mother were: “I’m going to die, Mum.”

Three men have been charged with the murder of a young plumber who was allegedly stabbed in front of his mother at a Condell Park unit.

Joseph Nehme, 27, Bilal Rahim, 29, and Viliami Taufahema, 35, have been charged with murder after Luke Lembryk, 29, died after being allegedly stabbed in the torso multiple times in his mother’s unit about 3am on December 7.

Both Taufahema and Nehme have also been charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon, and assault with intent to rob armed with offensive weapon.

Police will allege the men forced entry to the Condell Park unit, before stabbing Mr Lembryk and assaulting a woman.

Mr Lembryk’s final words to his mother after he was stabbed were: “I’m going to die, Mum”.

Bankstown Police said Mr Lembryk’s mother heard the commotion.

The 59-year-old woman suffered bruising to her face and was treated at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital before being discharged.

It is understood the victim was known to police for minor matters.

Mr Lembryk’s mother told friends that her son stumbled towards her after being stabbed and told her he was going to die.

Detective Chief Insp Sly said on Saturday the mother was “obviously distraught.”

In a series of arrests in less than an hour on Monday night, Robbery and Serious Crime Squad’s Strike Force Browallia arrested the men in Mascot, Auburn and Maroubra.

They were all charged with murder.

Taufahema briefly appeared in Waverley Local Court today and did not apply for bail which was formally refused.

He showed no emotion as he sat in the dock and heard his matter was adjourned until February.

Joseph Nehme, 27, also appeared at Waverley Local Court today.

He did not apply for bail and his bail was refused.

Rahim appeared in Burwood Local Court for the first time on Tuesday afternoon after he was arrested at a home on Angus St, Auburn, and charged with murder.

He sat quietly in the dock after being brought up from the cells, where he has been since the early hours of Tuesday morning.

His matter has been adjourned to February.
