Canterbury-Bankstown proved variety is the spice of life when it came to Snap Sydney, showing off the city’s great people and places in all their glory.

There was glorious fine weather for the start of Snap Sydney, with keen fishers taking the opportunity to drop a line into the Georges River at Picnic Point.

It was also a good morning to get in the garden and pick some homegrown vegetables, such as garlic and zucchini or if you’re a magpie, enjoy the sun perched on a clothesline.

Canterbury-Bankstown is known for its multicultural vibrancy and what better way to celebrate that than to try out all the different food on offer, such as the delectable dishes Gebran’s Lebanese Cuisine in Mt Lewis or the Vietnamese greengrocers that line Little Saigon in Bankstown, such as Viet Phat, offering up tasty fruit, such as sweet Thai mango.

After a bite to eat there were plenty of activities on offer, including ice skating in Canterbury, a walk or bike ride along the Cooks River, a stylish haircut at Bankstown Barber Salon, and free books to borrow from the Little Free Library next to Hurlstone Park train station.

Young people have plenty of options in our great city too, with the Belmore Youth Resource Centre offering teens a safe place to hang out and chill. There are plenty of sporting facilities in the region, with young swimmers training for future glory at Max Parker Aquatic and Leisure Centre at Revesby.

Canterbury-Bankstown is within easy commuting distance of Sydney CBD and every night thousands of commuters jump on the trains to head back home, such as these workers alighting at Hurlstone Park train station.
