The road was closed for some time while detectives from Campsie Police Area Command investigated the crime scene.

Ms Yu’s former housemate Shuo Dong, 19, remains in custody charged with her murder.

Detectives allege Ms Yu was transported in her own Toyota Corolla to the site where her body was found, before the car was dumped in Burwood minutes away from her home.

Ms Yu’s family made an emotional public appeal for information in the weeks before her body was found.

Her mother was the last person to see her alive when they were chatting on Skype on June 8 before the call abruptly cut out.

Hornsby councillor Nathan Tilbury previously told NewsLocal the tight-knit Berowra community was shaken up by the discovery of the body.

“Knowing the bushland may have been used to cover up a horrific crime – the community wanted to sort that out as soon as possible,” he said.

“I know the community is relieved because it is bringing some sort of closure to the family but also closure for the community.”

Berowra Heights resident Gary Evans, who had helped search for Ms Yu in the bushland, told NewsLocal his heart went out to the family.

“I’m glad for the parents — it’s closure for them,” he said.
