Homicide Squad detectives search for missing Sydney woman Qi Yu

A WOMAN has vanished from Sydney’s southwest and Homicide Squad detectives are now investigating with grave concerns for her. Police have found the missing woman’s car abandoned in a Sydney street.

HOMICIDE Squad detectives are now investigating the sudden disappearance of a woman from Sydney’s southwest last week.

Qi Yu, 28, was last seen at 7.30pm on Friday, June 8 at share accommodation in Loch St, Campsie.

She spoke with family in China around 7.15pm the same evening.

She has not been seen or heard from since.

This is similar to Ms Yu’s car which was found in Burwood.

Police are now gravely concerned for the young woman’s wellbeing and have urged anyone with information to come forward.

A fellow resident attended Campsie police station on Saturday morning to report Ms Yu was missing from her room.

At 8.30pm police found Ms Yu’s white 2016 Toyota Corolla with NSW registration plates DLK-13P in Lindsay St, Burwood.

Anyone that saw Ms Yu’s car between 7pm on Friday and 8.30pm on Saturday or knows anything about her whereabouts is urged to contact police immediately.

Ms Yu is described as Asian, 170cm tall, slim and brunette.
