Woman charged with high range drink driving in Sutherland
Police will allege a woman was driving at almost six times the legal alcohol limit when alarmed drivers in Sydney’s south called triple-0 and reported she was swerving and speeding.
A woman was allegedly driving at almost six times the legal alcohol limit when concerned commuters called triple-0 about a car swerving across lanes and speeding in Sydney’s south on Monday.
At 4.45pm on May 27 Sutherland Highway Patrol officers tried to stop a southbound car on the Princes Hwy between Sutherland and Heathcote, but the car initially kept driving.
When the woman stopped the car she was subjected to a roadside breath test, which she was unable to complete after several attempts.
She was arrested and taken to Sutherland police station, where a breath analysis allegedly returned a reading of 0.283.
The 36-year-old Shellharbour woman will appear at Sutherland Local Court on June 20 charged with high range drink driving for the second time.
