Two teens arrested after stolen car chase through airport tunnel
An allegedly stolen car has sparked a fast pursuit involving up to eight police cars with sirens through Sydney’s south, ending with the arrest of two teens.

Two teens have been arrested after a man allegedly stole a car, took police on a shocking high-speed pursuit involving up to eight police cars and ploughed into a traffic light in Sydney’s south.
Motorists reported several marked and unmarked police cars with sirens flew down The Grand Pde in Brighton in pursuit of an allegedly stolen car just before 10pm yesterday.
Police have now confirmed a silver 2001-model Mitsubishi Lancer was reported stolen from Cartwright between 4.45pm and 6.50pm before it was spotted on Beauchamp Rd in Maroubra at 9.50pm.
As the driver allegedly attempted to flee he forced his way between two stationary cars, causing minor damage, at Mascot before tearing away southbound on General Holmes Dr.
The car then hit a concrete barrier and busted a front tyre near the airport tunnel but continued south until the driver allegedly lost control and hit a traffic light at Holt Rd in Taren Point.
The 18-year-old male driver and his 17-year-old female passenger allegedly fled but were arrested after a short foot pursuit.
They were treated for minor injuries at Sutherland Hospital before they were released into police custody.
The Bankstown man was charged with a dangerous police pursuit, taking and driving a car, driving unlicensed and not giving particulars to another driver after a crash.
He was granted bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on November 11.
The girl has been released pending further inquiries.
